Tim Lancefield - Technology Director

In 1976 Tim joined GEC Marconi Avionic Systems as a production engineer, later working for Blackhawk Automotive Limited as a project engineer.
In 1983, he joined Piper FM Limited, a specialist camshaft designer and manufacturer, as Technical Director with particular responsibility for developing miniaturised fuelling systems, VVA technologies and consultancy.
After Mechadyne took over the R & D business of Piper FM Limited in 1990, Tim was appointed Technical Director.
Tim regularly reviews papers on Variable Valve Actuation in related areas of engine design, development and operation.
He has written a number of papers on VVT for presentation at international conferences and through his research for his D.Phil has become an authority on the application of VVA to diesel engines.
